This is a fabulous vintage 1960s Danish Stainless Steel Coffee and Tea Service on its original round tray.
This set is called Cylinda and it was designed by Danish architect Arne Jacobsen for Stelton in 1967 while he was head of design at Stelton.
Arne Jacobsen made his initial sketches for this design on a paper napkin. He began to draw what would later become the teapot in the Cylinda-line series. The drawing looked simple, but producing the teapot was extremely complicated.
There were major challenges in getting Cylinda-line from sketch to final product. An entirely new production method had to be invented and after three years of intensive development, the Cylinda-line was launched in 1967.
Arne Jacobsen's vision for Cylinda-line was that the series should enrich the ordinary consumer with good industrial design. With his design, he realized some of the most important ideas from functionalism.
It is rare to find a complete set like this - with a tall coffee pot, teapot, hot water jug, lidded sugar bowl, milk jug and circular tray.
All pieces are in good vintage condition. There are no dents or nasty scratches on the main body section of any pieces. There are some minor and fine scratches on the base of a couple of pieces (especially the tray) where they have been picked up and set down over the decades. But this is to be expected - and it is very minor. I have photographed all the items for you and added them here so you can assess the condition.
We will send the set to you in the UK only. This will cost £14.95 and applied to your order at the checkout.
