This is a lovely antique French heavy cut crystal ice bucket with stylish omolu mounts and lion paw feet.
It is unsigned but on a stylistic basis - I am attributing it to being a fine piece of French glass - probably made by Baccarat (they did not start putting etched marks onto their glass wares until the 1930s). There does not appear to be any maker's marks on this piece. It is certainly is a very beautifully made piece and of interest to the specialist collector. I have taken lots of images for your inspection.
It will possibly date to the early 20th century when these pieces of classically-inspired glassware were very much in favour with Baccarat.
The clear body is thick glass or crystal and is deeply engraved with a beautiful and very fine geometric pattern and a hobnail pattern all over. The glass section is in excellent condition with no losses and no nibbles of any kind to the glass.
The glass vase is a bucket shaped and flares out slightly to the rim - the rim has a bronze or ormolu gilt metal mount - decorated all over with tiny palmettes and Neo-Classical patterns. The pail stands on a base with geometric patterns and three lion pad feet, as photographed. All the engraved details on the ormolu are just top notch!
Dimensions: Overall height is 5 1/4 inches. The diameter of the rim at the top is 4 3/4 inches. The diameter of the base of the pail is about 3 1/4 inches.
All the gilt mounts are in excellent condition as well with no damage to them.
Please also see my French Empire desk clip - which came to me with this pail. Both items are of fine antique quality (NOW SOLD and shipped to Australia!) This is listed at a fair price.
It will have to be posted to you on the UK with Royal Mail Special Next Day Recorded Mail so that it is fully insured against damage or loss in transit. This will cost just over £10.
