These really large vintage TG Green Cornishware Storage Cannisters and now very hard to find. Indeed, it is only the ones in my store that I can currently find online.

This is amongst the largest sizes of kitchenalia canisters that you find - and this one has an overall height of 8 inches and with a diameter at the top of just under 6 1/2 inches.

It is marked on the base with the early Green Church mark (note the name is still Green & Co Ltd). This mark dates this storage jar to the 1930s.

The word Meal is under the glaze and with the sans serif lettering.

The canisters with MEAL printed on the sides are amongst the rarest pots you can find in this range - and this is priced to take that into account (please also see my other large and my smaller Meal ones). Really difficult to source, and for the specialist collector.

This one is in fine vintage condition. It has a fine star crack to the interior base - more of a glaze crack - but does not go all the way through the pot. There are no stains or nasty chips. The glaze - with no stains, nasty chips or cracks. The glaze has a little crazing - more especially on the lid - but generally not visible - it is fine. There is a wee flaw done in the manufacture to the lid - as photographed - these minor condition issues are reflected in the price - my other one is in slightly better condition - but of course, is more expensive to reflect this.

But generally, this is in good condition given its age. Perhaps because of its larger size it was not actually used but always kept as a display piece.

As mentioned these large examples and in good condition are now very hard to find, and this is reflected in my asking price.

Unpacked - this mighty beast of a pot is 2 kg - so this would reflect in a more expensive tracked postage quote - and also limit it to being shipped only to addresses in the UK
