This is a very stunning contemporary piece of Art Glass.
I love the colours of this piece - it looks like a bright blue summer sky or sea - with a darker blue towards the top and subtly fading to a paler bright blue towards the base. The blue colour is so vibrant that the vase almost glows, as you can see in my photos.
The middle section is covered in an abstract network of raised trails on all sides - these remind me of pieces of seaweed floating in the warm waters of the Caspian Sea. The vase is made of chunky glass and is oblong in shape - it has a rounded rippling edge at the top. Rounded corners all around too. It is very tactile in feel and looks so fabulous on display.
It is certainly a bit of a showstopper - especially given its very large size.
It measures 10 inches in height, with a width of 7 3/4 inches and a depth of 3 inches. Unpacked it weighs a stonking 2.4 kg.
It has a rough pontil mark on the base that indicates that it has been hand-made - and also signed Golkar (for Saeed Golkar), as photographed. It is a typical piece made by the Iranian glass designer. Golkar Glass, has a shop and gallery in Tehran, Iran. These pieces are very popular in the international marketplace - not sure how such a stunning and large example has ended up in Scotland.
It is in perfect condition with no damage. I have priced this based on the attractive design and the quality of the making. It is a fair price for such a fine piece of international art glass.
Sadly - it is going to be confined to posting in the UK. It will be sent to you with Parcelforce48. This will cost £10 and applied at the checkout stage.
