This is a beautiful vintage original Indian watercolour painting.
It is highly decorative and comes in a simple gold framed.
The artwork has a bit of age to it - and it has been meticulously painted with great attention to detail.
It has been painted with gouache paint and watercolour on paper.
The frame measures: 35 x 27 cm.
The central panel is 25 x 15 cm
The painting has a central panel section or image - it is surrounded by a decorative painted border of flowers, as photographed.
The central composition - shows an elaborate tent structure in a hilly landscape. The canopy of the tent is pleated and is an emerald green colour. Rocky mountains and two leafy green trees are seen in the background.
All the action takes place within the tented area - I am not sure if it is an all-male celebration relating to a betrothal or ceremonial event. The events seem to revolve around the gentleman in the pale blue robe with the pale peach turban in the centre. Another member of the party shakes his hand - at to the left two other gentlemen hold ceremonial items.
The sheet is completely covered with minute details - and the whole composition is beautifully painted.
A very fine old Indian miniature painting - listed at a fair price for the amount of work which has gone into it.
Any white marks which seem to be on the painting are only reflections on the glass when I was taking the photos - the surface was very reflective.
