On offer here is this pretty pair of 1950s hand-painted Italian vases. They are a petite size and great items for display in a smaller interior or as part of a starter collection.
One has the word Italy painted on the base - and the other is unmarked - but it is certainly Italian in style and decoration. The vase with the tall neck is illustrated on page 111 of Mark Hill's book "Alla Moda" as being made by Fancuillacci. He states that it is a rare piece and in his appendix has an estimated value of it at £50 - £70. I think that the other one is probably by the same artist but I have not found a similar design, as yet.
Both are in excellent condition with no damages.
They are certainly very attractive vases and now over 70 years old. They are as fresh as the day that they were first made.
Just so there is no confusion the price here is for the PAIR and they will be sent to you with Royal Mail Recorded - this will cost £4.95 and applied to your order at the checkout.
Unpacked they weigh just over 500 grams.
Dimensions: The grey glossy one with the tall neck is 6 inches in height with a diameter at the widest point of 3 inches.
The octagonal one with the textured finish is 4 inches. The diameter at the widest point is 3 1/4 inches.
