This is a pretty little white metal antique lidded Glasgow School lidded box.
It is handmade and features a stylised Glasgow Rose on the lid.
It is circular in shape.
It has four raised feet which are integral to the box and issue from the main body of the pot.
The sides of the little pot are smooth in texture and the lid is textured behind the rose motif with repousee work.
It is sadly unmarked with any maker's cypher but is it certainly in the style of metalwork made in the early 20th century by Glasgow designer and metalworker, Margaret Gilmour (1860 - 1942). Although she more commonly made things from brass, she did also make decorative items from silvered metal.
The box is certainly a highly decorative and charming piece of Scottish Arts and Crafts metalwork.
It is in good condition with no issues.
The box is 2 1/4 inches in height and has a diameter of 3 3/4 inches.
Postage quoted is for Special Next Day Delivery with the Royal Mail, so that it is fully insured in transit.
