This is a much rarer and collectable Staffordshire Figurine representing the death of Horatio Nelson.
It dates to around 1840.
It is the figurine as illustrated in Pugh's book on Staffordshire Portrait Figures, (fig 33; page 226).
With underglaze blue and overglaze polychrome enamels and gilding.
Dimensions: height about 8 1/2 inches. Width is just over 5 inches. The depth is 3 inches.
It is in excellent condition with no damages.
It is a genuine antique figurine - and NOT a reproduction or modern piece.
This is probably a figurine for the more specialist collector of rarer Staffordshire models - or someone who collects items relating to the history of our naval hero, Nelson.
A similar figure sold at Christie's, South Kensington, Maritime Sale (lot 32), 21 May 2003 for £470 (including premium), Another is in the collection of the Maritime Museum at Greenwich in London (and that has a chip on the base!).
This is a very fair price for this particular model.
