This is a much rarer pattern to find on vintage Portmeirion pieces.
It is a fabulous abstract pattern that was designed by Susan Williams-Ellis in 1964.
It was an ingenious solution by Susan to use up all the pieces of transfer sheets used on the ceramics. These were rather expensive and this design cut down on waste in the factory. The sheets could be cut in a multitude of interlocking patterns and be applied to all of the shapes in the Portmeirion range. They were most often applied to tankards, sugar sifters, storage jars and cruet sets.
The design was only in production for only 4 years - and pieces are now harder to find and much sought after.
This is large piece - a one pint jug. It is 4 1/4 inches in height and handle to spout is 7 inches. The diameter is 4 1/4 inches.
It will cost £4.95 to post to UK using Royal Mail Recorded post.
