This is a fine and very attractive vintage Edinburgh Crystal wine decanter.
It dates to the first half of the 20th Century.
It is a rarer decanter or carafe - great for storing wine - or perhaps water for your whisky.
It has high shoulders and tapers down to the flared base. The most unusual thing about this decanter or carafe is the double-pouring lips at each side of the rim - you don't find these features that often on Edinburgh crystal pieces. The main body section and stopper have engraved facet-cut geometric decorations all over, as photographed.
It has a lightly etched signature on the base - which you can just make out is an Edinburgh crystal one.
The stopper is original to the decanter and is not a later addition.
As you can see, it is in excellent and very clean vintage condition with no staining inside etc
My fine and very collectible Edinburgh Crystal decanter is 11 1/2 inches in height (including stopper) and 8 1/2 inches for the main body section without the stopper. The diameter of the foot is 3 1/2 inches.
Unpacked it is 1.1 kg.
A fair asking price for this pretty vintage Scottish crystal decanter - with the busy spiky Appin pattern.
