This is a fine mid-century Scottish stoneware jug.
It was made by Buchan Pottery, Portobello (just outside of Edinburgh), and dates to the early 1960s.
It is a fine rustic design - with boldly painted flowers on the side.
It would look good in a country kitchen on a pine dresser - or perhaps as a table centrepiece with little country flowers on display in it - and used as a wee vase.
It a nice larger size - being 6 3/4 inches in height.
It is, of course, has no chips or cracks - and in lovely vintage condition.
It is quite a heavy piece weighing in at 700 grams.
A fair asking price for this pretty hand painted piece of Scottish pottery with interest in Buchanware currently on the rise in Scotland.
The size pushes up the postage costs a little.
