These are fabulous large dinner plates made of Scottish Pottery - great for serving New Year or Christmas feasts one. Each plate is made of hand-painted stoneware pottery. The Tain Pottery are still making this Buchanan design and pattern.
All my pieces of Tain Pottery are pre-loved but in perfect (hardly used!) condition. I have a few pieces of this Buchanan Tartan pattern listed on my site. I have a total of eight of these sturdy dinner plates on offer. Each piece is clearly marked Tain Pottery on the base.
Each plate at £15 and postage will be £5.50 with Royal Mail Recorded for two plates. I can cap the postage at £10 for more than one set - and any postage over-payments at checkout will be refunded to you. I have eight dinner plates available and each is 10 1/4 inches in diameter.
Each plate is decorated with a hand-painted version of the Buchanan tartan. Tain Stoneware ceramics are very substantial and well made - they can be put into the dishwasher as well.
HISTORY: The Tain Pottery, now firmly established as one of the largest Scottish ceramic manufacturers offers a fine range of products created by traditional craft technique and skill. Tain Pottery was established in 1996 when the pottery purchased a derelict steading on a run-down farmyard at Aldie (just south of the Royal Burgh of Tain), in the Scottish Highlands. The pottery is run in partnership by Messers R. Hudson and A. Pett as "The Tain Pottery". The studio overlooks the surrounding Highland landscape which provides a constant source of inspiration for the original designs, all of which are individually hand painted by a team of artists. Visitors are welcome at the studio.
