These are a fine pair of antique Victorian Staffordshire dogs - the take the form of a pair of seated chimney spaniels.
They are genuine Victorian examples, and definitely NOT reproductions.
They are nicely modelled examples with no chips or cracks - they have their original dark brown glass eyes. The modelling on this pair is more minimalistic and monumental in form than other examples in my Etsy store.
They are a matched pair, as created.
Each dog has a little gold coloured collar with a padlock on it - the padlock and chain on each dog have some rubbing and quite a lot of losses to the gilding - but this is common on these old Victorian examples.
They are fine display pieces - and will look fabulous on a mantlepiece or old-fashioned kitchen dresser.
Apart to losses to the old gold gilt - there are no damages, cracks or chips to my dogs. They have their original glass eyes.
Height: 10 1/2 inches. Width: 8 3/4 inches and the depth is 4 inches.
Due to their weight, they are restricted to UK posting only (unpacked the pair weight 2.7 kg)
