This is a strange little antique table lamp - dating to the end of the 19th century or early 20th century.
It is made of cast brass - and has a good bit of weight to it.
I cannot find another quite like it - so it is possibly unique as a lamp. It would make an interesting lamp to light up a room corner or recess - more as a feature lamp than one which would illuminate a room.
It uses a Classical theme for its form. It has four pad feet - with clamshell motifs on top of them. A decorative palmette border runs around the lower edge joining the feet. Above this section is a dome shape and from this rises a sunflower which contains the brass bulb holder.
Dimensions: the height of the lamp from the base to the top of the shade is 7 1/2 inches. The overall diameter of the base is 6 3/8 inches. The height of the brass section from foot to top of bulb holder is 5 inches. The shade has a diameter of 5 3/4 inches. The height of the shade at the peaks is 3 3/4 inches.
The shade is like a white flower head - it is made of opaque milk glass - and has a fluted and frilled edge. It has no chips or cracks.
The lamp has been recently re-wired and fully earthed. It has a finger switch on the cable so that you can turn the light on and off easily. It is lovely and clean - a great wee antique night light or lamp.
Due to the weight of the light - it will have to be posted to UK addresses only. The lamp will be sent to you with Parcelforce24 and applied to your order at the checkout.
