This is a very stylish and minimalistic vase by the German designer Hans Stangl.
It was made in porcelain for Rosenthal in the mid-1950s - as annotated on the base.
A very simple design - which is nicknames the Bishop's Hat - as the shape is rather like the headdress worn by a bishop.
There are peaks to the front and back (with a taller one to the back).
The design is very simple and understated - with the concentration of the design going into the shape. There are some very fine parallel lines as decoration on the exterior, as photographed.
These little vases are now very hard to source and tend to command good prices when offered for sale.
This one is without any damages and is in excellent vintage condition.
