This is a fabulous vintage piece of Kosta Boda Art Glass. It is a rare piece and much sought after in this exceptionally large size.
The bowl / vase was made by Kjell Engman and dates to around 2000.
Kjell Engman was born in 1946 and is one of Sweden’s leading glass artists. He has worked for the Kosta Boda Glassworks for more than 40 years. and became a prominent designer of the finest of glass vases, bowls, and sculptures. Examples of his work are in the Swedish National Museum of Art and Design.
It is a tall bowl-shaped vase and it is handmade and is chunky clear glass with silver highlights. The name of the vase comes from the raised lozenge on the front - which takes the form of a fossilized trilobite.
Dimensions: Height is 9 1/2 inches. The width at the top rim is 10 inches x 6 3/4 inches.
Engraved on the base: Kosta Boda K Engman and with the issue number. The pattern number is 50019.
It has its original Kosta Boda sticker on the front. These largest-size Fossil Vases are hard to find and this is reflected in my asking price. It is in perfect condition with no damage - and looks stunning in contemporary interiors.
It is a stonking and large piece of glass - unpacked it weighs 3.3 kg - sadly, this would limit it to UK Postage with Parcelforce. This will cost about £14 - and applied to your order at the checkout.
