This is a sweet little vintage pill box or trinket box - dating to the 1930s or 1940s.
It is made of an early plastic - possibly a butterscotch-coloured phenolic or celluloid material. The plastic is not so thick - but is relatively thin (but sturdy). It is certainly finely made- and now nearly 100 years old. This is reflected in my asking price.
It is circular in shape with rounded off edges, as photographed, and is nice and textile. I love the tiny decorations on the lid which is an applied micro ladybird and fly. Never seen another quite like it.
It might have originally been a little pill, stud, or cufflinks box - which would have sat on an Art Deco Dressing table. It is lidded with the lid just slipping over an internal rim in the base section. With its smooth edges - it is very tactile and sits just nicely in your hand.
It is in good condition with no damage.
Dimensions: it is just over 2 inches in diameter. The overall height is 1 1/4 inches.
It will be packed up in a wee sturdy box to post to you and keep safe in transit. This will be £4.95 with the Royal Mail as a Small Recorded Delivery Parcel. This will be applied to your order at checkout.
