This is an original 1930s Art Deco Trinket or Jewellery Box.
It is beautifully made from a very shiny early black plastic - which I think is phenolic plastic. The lid is nice and shiny and has a black and white striped lozenge knop on the top. The lid lifts off the base section (it is not hinged). The edges are rounded - as a sign of quality. There are four little original clear square pads on the base of the lid - these act to keep the lid on the box when it is closed.
The base is made of the same black shiny black plastic around the sides - and the base is clear. As you can see from my photographs, it is in lovely vintage condition - and displays well. These 1930s original Deco boxes are now highly collectible - especially with unusual detailing and in fine condition. Any strange colours appearing on the box in my images - are only reflections from my stained glass panels at home - it shows just how shiny the black plastic is.
This box is 11 cm long - and 8 cm in depth. It is 3.7 cm in height. The knop on the lid measures 4 cm in length - and 2 cm in height - with a width of 1 cm.
The box will be posted to you in the UK with Royal Mail Recorded post. This will cost £4.95 and applied to your order at the checkout.
