This is a fine German Art Deco Glass Lamp
It dates to around the 1930s and was made by WMF in Germany.
It is known off as an Ikora Lamp.
This one is in excellent damage free condition.
It is of bulbous or globular shape - with a very attractive crackle glass finish - the main body colour is a scarlet red colour - with black mottled colours - with bits of yellow and olive green shades within. On top - is the original chrome lamp fitting - this is often missing from these old lamps - it is in lovely condition.
The electric flex attaches to the chrome collar, as photographed - and the lamp is turned on and off with the finger switch on the gold-coloured flex.
Love the swivel joint at the top of the chrome fitment - with a large key shape paddle to the side - which you turn and allows you to angle the shade area. Sadly the original shade is no longer present - but should be easy for you to source an appropriate shade to your own taste.
There is a fitting and also a light bulb inside the glass base section - and this works as photographed.
Dimensions: Height of the glass section of the lamp is 6 inches. Diameter is 5 1/2 inches.
Height: to above bulb holder is 10 1/2 inches. Overall height to top of shade holder is 15 3/4 inches.
Weight unpacked is 1.3 kg
These original WMF lamps are now highly sought after - and often you might find only the glass body section without any of the chrome fittings.
Probably for UK delivery only - to send to EU countries, please check for a special courier service before bidding as the price to post could be a tad on the expensive side.
To sum up: A fabulous vintage glass lamp in DAMAGE FREE condition - with original chrome fittings - and rare movable joint at the top which angles the shade attachment. WORKING and lights up inside too. Lovely Red and Black Colouring.
