This is a sweet little vintage bobblehead or nodding figure.
He is made of a composite plaster-like material - which has a nice glossy original paint finish to the model.
I am not sure of its origin - but stylistically it looks like it is possibly Japanese and dating to the late 1950s or early 1960s. It is marked FOREIGN on the base - which you often found on Japanese pieces just after WWII.
This one is in excellent vintage condition - and has no damages. The paintwork is original to the wee figure and with no losses.
This bobblehead takes the form of a little artist - he wears a white paint smock and carries his paint palette. He has two paintbrushes in his other hand. He has little scruffy black trousers on - and stands on a plinth - entitled THE ARTIST. Our little painter has auburn hair and a little goatee beard.
He is 5 inches in height and his head rocks gently back and forward when he is moved or with a gentle tap. His head sits nice and straight on his body when on display.
He is a more unusual example and in very good condition for his age. A great wee vintage novelty for a desk or artist's studio.
