This is another one of my vintage toys - which is probably more of a display piece than a practical item.
It is in good vintage condition with no condition issues and loosk fabulous with its 1950s candy stripe decorations in red and white.
The drum measures are follows: The diameter is 9 inches. The height is 4 inches.
The surrounding edge is made of tin - which is litho-printed with a red band around the center and top and bottom with red and white diagonal stripes. There are catches and clips all around which hold the top and bottom "skins" sections together.
There is an old cotton candy stripe string to hang over your neck.
There are firm white plastic "skins" top and bottom - these are in excellent condition with no issues and nice and clean. There are no damages to the metal sides - one tiny loss to the paintwork as photographed - but that is the only item of concern.
Sadly, although the original vintage box is still present - it is in very ropey condition - with tears and stains etc - but given that the drum and box are now nearly 70 years old - I am surprised that the box has survived at all.
The box states the the drum was: Made in England and is an ACME product.
Listed at a fair price - it would look good on display in a vintage toy shop - or perhaps as a quirky present for a drummer. It does not have any drumsticks - I don't that this it had those when first retailed.
Can post in the UK with Royal Mail Recorded Post - this will cost £5.50 and it would be applied at the checkout stage.
