This is a fabulous vintage IRIS powder compact for standard refill size of pressed cakes of face powders.
It dates to the late 1950s and was made by a less well-known maker called Iris. It is not a round-shaped compact, but is more like a clam shell.
It is in good condition.
The main body is very shiny (almost mirror finish) gold-tone - and the top is then covered with a busy pattern of bouquets of pink roses. The shine on the lid made it difficult to photograph this compact - it had a lot of reflections; so apologies for the image quality here.
The mirror inside the lid is clean and without marks or spots on the surface. Inside is a reservoir for loose powder. There is a gold-coloured internal lid that clicks firmly shut to keep the contents safe.
The diameter is 7 cm (2 3/4 inches).
I have taken lots of images for your inspection. My asking price reflects its age and its fine condition.
It will be sent to you with Royal Mail postage in the UK.
