This is a great vintage advertising sign for Camp's Coffee.
It dates to the 1970s - and is a copy of an earlier advertising sign.
The decoration is enamel on a heavy metal panel - not a substandard tin or aluminium. It is a more substantial advertising item - and looks amazing on display.
The sign measures 14 x 6 ½ inches (36 x 16.5 cm).
As you can see from my photographs - it is in good condition with no scratches to the image, no rust, and only a little wear to the edges on the edge - and around the hanging holes - as you might expect on an older piece.
The sign was probably made by Dodo Designs - it is made of the same materials and is exactly the same size. Originally there would have been a white printed logo for Dodo Designs on the reverse. My price takes into consideration the lack of the Dodo logo, and also its fine condition. It is a very fair price!
Camp Coffee has an interesting history - as it was amongst the first instant coffees (and indeed is still being made over a hundred years later). It was first created in the 1870s in Glasgow - Campbell Paterson of R. Paterson & Son created an essence of coffee, sugar, and chicory that could be mixed with water to create an instant coffee that could be easily made without any grinding or brewing. So instant coffee is Scottish!
