This is a pretty little vintage 1980s Scottish paperweight. It was made by Caithness Glass in 1989. It is called Luckenbooth and it was designed by the glass maestro, Colin Terris.
In Scotland, the Luckenbooth is a symbol of a betrothal.
It is signed LUCKENBOOTH / Scotland on the base.
The weight has a lovely rich cerise pink ground and has a polished base. On the base are two entwined hearts in the middle of the weight. These are made up of teeny weeny millefiori canes. There is a decorative border of similar white canes running around the circumference of the cranberry-pink ground. The dome of the paperweight is very shiny, any white marks in my images are not on the weight - but are reflections from the glass.
It is in perfect condition with no damage of any kind. Dimensions: The diameter is 3 inches and the height is 2 3/4 inches. The weight is 620 grams.
